About Wild Coast Publishing

Coast&Kayak Magazine is published by Wild Coast Publishing, a small family-operated company based in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, strategically located near some of the best kayaking locations on the planet. Wild Coast Publishing sells books, produces magazines including Coast&Kayak Magazine and a variety of tourism publications and promotional materials from brochures to maps, including the BC Coast Recreation Map and Trip Planner series. The company was founded by author John Kimantas. Coast&Kayak Magazine's origins go back a bit farther to Gabriola Island and Alan Wilson and Peter Marcus about 20 years ago. In fact, we're celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2011.

About the publisher:

John Kimantas: John is editor and owner of Coast&Kayak Magazine. His background includes 18 years in newspapers across Canada before writing a series of BC coastal kayaking guidebooks and atlases. Now with six books behind him he is enjoying the new task of keeping the kayaking community up-to-date on advice, information and destinations through Coast&Kayak Magazine. You can reach him here.
