When Alan (WaveLength's trusty editor) told me that the theme for this issue was "Paddling Basics", I knew he'd been working too hard.

He's been working overtime lately moving the WaveLength offices to a new and better location. So I just didn't have the heart to remind him he'd already dealt with this topic a couple of years ago.
