Coastal Fishes by Andy Lamb

Review by Bryan Nichols

Local boy Andy Lamb's "Coastal Fishes..." is the book to get if you like fish. It's been around for 13 years and has now been reprinted. Concentrating only on Northwest fish, it covers darn near all of them, and mentions those it doesn't. The line drawings are excellent and the information is fun and informative-for each fish there are notes for divers, shore observers (which best helps kayakers), fishers and gourmets.

The color photos at the beginning are excellent-my only complaint would be that there is little or no information on coloration with the line drawings. Still, it is invaluable for kayakers interested in fish, and will tell you who's who if you ever venture below the waves as well.
